Thank you for your interest in the Charleston Area Convention Center
Complex and the Charleston area. Charleston has a rich history dating back to 1670.
Our area would be perfect for your group.
The Charleston Area Convention Center Complex opened August 12, 1999 with an Exhibition
Hall of 76,960 square feet, divisible into three separate halls. The exhibit hall
floor features floor boxes thirty feet on center with power, communication, microphones,
and drains, with a conduit system that allows you to pull a line anywhere in the hall.
Floor boxes at the columns have water, and on the column is forced |
| air. There is a thirty-foot clearance from the floor to the bottom of the roof
joist. The ceiling features exposed overhead structure for convenient rigging, and both
metal halide and dimmable quartz lighting. Wall panels hide in the wall pockets when not
in use. Each hall, when divided has pre function access, concessions, and restrooms.
Loading docks are accessible to each hall with vehicle access and three coiling doors. The
halls have a public address system, and are fully sprinkled for your safety, and are ADA
compliant. For our international exhibitors, the convention center is a Foreign
Trade Zone. Pre-function space connects to the
ballroom, the performing arts Theater, and meeting rooms. Indoor connectors attach The
North Charleston Coliseum and The Embassy Suites Hotel. The
Performing Arts Theater has 2,300 cushioned seats, with full production
capabilities. It features an in-house sound system and equipment including ADA hearing
assists, in-house lighting system and spotlights. There are two loading docks; complete
rigging grid and the stage is 110 feet by 40 feet. Additionally, there are eight dressing
rooms, complete support services, and food and beverage services. This theater can be
available for your general sessions. The North Charleston
Coliseum has 14,000 seats, with an arena floor of 30,000 square feet.
The Embassy Suites Charleston Convention Center
features 255 rooms, and they lease and service the 25,000 square feet in the ballroom and
14 meeting rooms at the attached convention center. An additional 1000 hotel rooms
are within a 2 block radius. The Charleston Area has another 10,000 hotel rooms
nearby.
Centerplate will provide any
concessions you may need in the exhibit hall, performing arts theater, or coliseum.
Facility Parking controls 3,000 parking spaces
surrounding the convention center, and parking is $4.00 per day.
